DESCRIPTION

We are excited to sponsor the Denver Wealth Management Scholarship Golf Tournament for a third year in a row. The proceeds from this tournament benefit the Denver Tech Center Rotary Club’s Sally Shuler Scholarship Fund. The fund provides annual scholarships to several local Thomas Jefferson High School students.

The scramble-style tournament will take place at the beautiful Arrowhead Golf Club on Monday, August 2nd. The tournament will begin upon an 8 a.m. (MST) shot-gun start. Breakfast and lunch will be provided along with green fees, a swag bag, drink vouchers, and range balls. There will also be prizes for various contests.

Due to high demand and increased venue fees, the participation cost increased to $200 per participant this year. Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Sally Shuler Scholarship Fund. Registration is limited to 84 golfers (21 foursomes) on a first-come-first-serve basis. If registration is full, please email austyn@denverwealthmanagement.com to join the waitlist.

If you would like to join for the post-golf banquet (without playing), the cost for lunch is $25 per attendee.

Upon registration, please indicate if you will be golfing with a specific group. You will receive a follow-up email with payment instructions. Please email austyn@denverwealthmanagement.com with event questions.

About the Cause

There are three facets of this cause: Rotary Club International, the DTC club, and the Sally Shuler Scholarship Fund.

With a current network of over 1.2 million members globally, the Rotary Club aims to solve real-world problems through community collaboration and volunteering.

The organization was initially founded in Chicago in 1905 as a means of networking. Local business people would rotate (hence, Rotary) among others’ businesses to share ideas and form meaningful relationships.

Rotary’s original objective was global Polio relief, which is 99.9% complete. Since then, each clubs’ initiatives vary from community to international projects.

The DTC Rotary Club

Two of our team members, Blair Braden and Austyn Garcia, joined the DTC Rotary Club in 2018 as an opportunity for community involvement. The DTC Rotary Club offers structured volunteering opportunities, many of which are focus on local education (a value DWM shares).

Other club projects include clothing drives, food drives, fundraisers, monetary support, and global health projects. Learn more here.

The Sally Shuler Scholarship Fund

Established in 2019, the Sally Shuler Scholarship Fund is named after one of the DTC club’s most prestigious members, Sally Shuler. Sally began her Rotary career in 1947 with the Mt. Olive club in North Carolina. She was one of the founding members of the DTC club and a local district officer and chair.

The scholarship provides several $2,000+ scholarships for Thomas Jefferson High School graduates who live by Rotary’s motto: service above self.
